We got some decent rain this week and the peas loved it. They are looking good and healthy. I guess the bugs haven't found them yet.
I still haven't decided on a trellis method for them yet. Last year I ran string from the base of the bamboo up to the corner post and tied them to that as they grew, but it took a lot of time and maintenance. Over at the cooperative garden, they had just stuck a piece of hardware cloth right next to the row of peas and the pea tendrils were clinging to it as they grew. Very little maintenance on that, put hardware cloth would look out of place in my parterre vegetable garden.
Add to that, the peas are planted on an arc, not in a straight row.
It's a conundrum,
